Give each step a boundary

An assistant can gather sources, organize notes and prepare a draft. Sending that draft, changing a live record or spending money affects the world outside the draft.

May do: Research public sources and prepare a draft.
Must show: Sources, assumptions and unresolved questions.
Must ask: Before sending, publishing or making a purchase.

Make approval concrete

Review the exact action, recipient or destination, and final content. “Handle this” should not quietly become permission for every possible next step.
